Who can study Oncology Massage?
While many of our students are already working in the therapeutic touch and allied health industry, our courses are designed for all people interested in the benefits of oncology massage.
Our students include:
Employees and volunteers from hospital, hospice, aged and palliative care facilities
Friends and family members of people with cancer who wish to support their loved ones
Therapists ready to develop their professional skills and expand their client base
Therapists who wish to qualify to work in a wellness support centre, medical and/or allied health

OM1 Course Content
E-Learning - self-paced over 4 weeks.
Start date: one month prior to the In-Person Learning.

Eight units: self-paced but must be completed prior to attendance at the In-Person Learning.

Weekly online meetings with your Facilitator and student group.

Active discussion board and easy access to our team of Facilitators.

Allow approximately 3 - 5 hours per week to complete the units. Your individual learning style and schedule may mean you finish sooner or perhaps need a little longer each week.
OM1 E-Learning Resources
In-Person Learning - two days Face to face with your fellow students and our Facilitator Team.

Have your Oncology Massage hands on skills guided and adapted specifically for you.

Learn five of our ten specialised Oncology Massage techniques and hone them over two days of practical application.

Discuss case histories and practice the plans in person, adapting and amending your learning with each massage.

Taking Oncology Massage into your clinics and community, and your next steps.

Practical - changing and adapting the habits of massage therapy.

Practical - pressure, site, position and duration massage case studies for clients with appliances, compromised lymphatic systems, scar tissue, and/or bone metastases.
Examination
There is NO formal examination at the end of this course, however, please note that successfully completing OM1 does not automatically mean that you will be able to progress to [OM2]. Each OM1 participant is assessed for their suitability for this kind of work, and OM2 has additional prerequisites, including a recognised touch therapy qualification.
Cancellations and Withdrawals
We will give you as much advance notice as possible of any confirmations, cancellations, or changes in policy - however, we do advise all students to make any non-refundable travel and/or accommodation payments as close to the course start date as possible.
The Foundation Program in Oncology Massage

All course fees include a non-refundable $100 registration fee.

If you cancel or withdraw from a course 30 days prior to the course start date you will be refunded your payments to date, less $100.

If you cancel or withdraw from a course fewer than 30 days (but more than one week) prior to the course start date you will be refunded 50% of the total of your paid fees.

If you cancel or withdraw from a course fewer than 7 days prior to the course start date your course fee payment will be non-refundable.

In the event of proper documentation of medical emergency, death in the immediate family, or weather prohibiting travel your entire course fee may be allowed to be rolled over to a course at a later date. This special consideration will be allowed one time only at the discretion of the Oncology Massage Ltd Board.

If a course is cancelled due to low registrations the total of your payments will be refunded in full, including the $100 registration fee. (Related bank surcharge will be born by the payee, i.e. the student)
